A Last Stand
A Last Stand is a top-down active base defense game prototype. Current build is just a simple MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for a personal portfolio project, however I plan to fully develop and launch it as a complete experience as I grow and learn more about game development.
Current Features:
- Functional Win/lose condition
- 3 levels.
- Each level gets a bit harder via spawn speed and amount of enemies
- Mid Game Pause
Planned Features:
- A full story narrative through between level dialogue and cutscenes.
- Additional mechanics and player abilities.
- Wide array of enemy types including boss battles.
- Upgrade system for Offensive means.
- Offensive includes:
- Projectile damage upgrades
- Projectile Element and or Type unlocks (think Explosive or poison puddles)
- Number of player(dwarfs) manning the fort each firing their own projectile upgrade.
- Magic or possibly technical cooldown type abilities.
- Consumable Tertiary powers such as bombardments.
- More as I think about them. (hello scope creep).
- Upgrade system for Defense means.
- Defensive Includes:
- Fort health upgrade.
- Fort secondary barricades.
- Traps, moats, pitfalls
- Automated mage bonus attacks with limited range (think last chance attacks from mages at enemies that would otherwise get through dying if low enough health)
- Consumable emergency repair abilities.
- Limited/consumable invincibility via mage dome shield or other similar tactic. (limited to difficulty settings.)
- More as I think about them. (yes... yes.... unlimited scope creep for all!)
- Additional Difficulties
- Audio... for just about everything that needs it.
- Background music or ambiance...(Maybe?)
- better 2D art.
- Save/Load System
- And more as I either think of it or realized I missed a core feature...
